Media Literacy Trail

How does the media try to shape our identity? Do advertisers have a responsibility to be consistent and honest with us as consumers?

Are teenagers free to develop their own sense of selves or are they defined by films, advertising and the internet?

Who speaks for young people? Which forms of media represent the interests and needs of youth best?

We will be tackling these questions and investigating media representations in the community on Wednesday - along with a session at SYN FM where you will have the opportunity to create a radio broadcast.

So you think you're funny? :-)

Ricky Gervais, Adam Hills, Chris Rock, Seinfeld, Modern Family, Curb your Enthusiasm.... The list is goes on and on.
We all love comedy. Whether it's stand-up, a sit-com or simply laughing with your mates, we all love to laugh and make each other laugh, so with that in mind, we are going to attempt to be stand-up comedians!
I shall be enlisting the help of two great comics THE NELSON TWINS.
Justin and Chris Nelson reached the semi final of Australia's Got Talent.

We'll be visiting a comedy club in St. Kilda, we'll be trying to find out what is Melbourne's funniest joke and you will get the opportunity to write and perform your comedy routine by the end of the week!

Money, money, money
People worship it, people want it, people die for lack of it, people even kill for it. But what is it?
On Wednesday we'll be taking a tour around Melbourne, looking at what money is, and what money does. We'll talk to a money expert and find out for ourselves, by experiment of course, how money works.
